Brittany -- Week 5 -- "More Than Just One Perspective"
I went to Oceanside this weekend, and as I looked out at the seals sunbathing on the pier, I noticed the beautiful texture and patterning of the clouds. I actually played around with a couple of different shots of this scene because the texture appeared more or less prominent depending on where I focused my camera. Although the clouds are what drew me to take the picture, I actually ended up appreciating the way my camera captured the clouds. The camera's ability to focus in on different elements of the same scene reminded me of my tendency to look for only the thing I am actively searching for. As this quarter has gone by, I have started to notice light in ways I am not looking for though. It amazes me that there are so many different ways to see the same scene. It was ultimately my camera's abilities that influenced me to start opening up my eyes to different perspectives. I think I'm probably missing out on a lot of different ways to see the world by just focusing on and actively searching for just one outlook.
Nice image and great realizations - the more we expose ourselves to the more complete and artist we become :)
